3 Success Secrets for Making This Recipe
Soften the cream cheese: You can either leave it out at room temperature for about 90 minutes, or microwave it in 10-second increments until it’s softened. This will make the cream cheese easy to blend smoothly with the other ingredients.
Fold in the whipped topping: By gently folding in the whipped topping, your dip will have a luscious, fluffy texture.
Add the chopped fresh strawberries just before serving – Using extra fresh berries will give your dip the BEST strawberry flavor!
Key Ingredients
Here’s a picture of what you’ll need to make this strawberry cream cheese dip:

8 ounces cream cheese – Use whole fat cream cheese for the best flavor
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup strawberry jam – You can also use strawberry preserves or strawberry jelly if you prefer.
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
8 ounces whipped topping such as Cool Whip, thawed – You can also substitute real whipped cream if you prefer. Whip 1 cup heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped, plus extras for garnish – You’ll need about 1/2 pound of strawberries, and I like to use organic berries since strawberries are on the Dirty Dozen list. After you hull and wash them, chop finely and measure 1 cup. Save the remaining strawberries for garnish.

FAQs

If you make the dip with whipped topping such as Cool Whip, it can be tightly wrapped and frozen for up to 6 weeks. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight, and give the dip a gentle stir with a spatula before serving to re-blend the ingredients. If you plan to substitute whipped cream for the whipped topping, I don’t recommend freezing the dip as it will separate when thawing and the texture will be affected.
Along with a variety of dippers such as cookies, graham crackers, and layered wafer cookies, I like to serve this dip with hot and cold drinks like coffee, tea, and iced tea. It also pairs well with mini flourless chocolate cakes!
Yes! For the freshest flavor, prepare the dip through Step 3 but don’t add the fresh chopped strawberries yet. Cover tightly and refrigerate the cheesecake dip for up to 2 days. Just before serving, let the dip sit out at room temperature for 1 hour. Add the chopped fresh strawberries and stir gently to combine.
