50 Good Things in 5 Days – Happy Reset Week!

Reset week

Dear friends,

Last week I posted about how sometimes I wish life had a red reset button, like the ones on garbage disposals. So I’m hunkering down to do 50 good things this week. Care to join me?

Here’s what’s on my Reset Week list:

1.  Get up 15 minutes early. (So far, so good! I was up at 4:35 this morning.)

2. Restrict my reading of email to the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

3. No spending money – like a mini January Money Diet!

4. Drink six glasses of refreshing water each day.

5. Tackle one important thing every day.

6. Give away 5 bags of stuff.

7. Unplug from the news.

8. Do some cardio and strength training every day.

9. Spend time outside connecting with nature for at least 20 minutes every day.

10. Eat some colorful fruits and veggies every day.

A number of you are going to do your own Reset Week. Hooray! I’m pulling for you.

I’d love to hear your accomplishments and victories, either as a comment on this page or via email (elizagcross @ gmail . com). If you post on social media, use the hashtag #ResetWeek so we can all connect.

Happy Monday, and I hope you have a fantastic, productive, life-enhancing Reset Week.

  1. First thought was, ‘fifty things, I can’t think of fifty things’… Thank goodness you spelled it all out. If the world read and did your suggestions for simple living, we would all be better for it. The whole world would be a better place!

  2. So far so good, altho’ I did just read this email which reminded me: a. Not to go farther on email, b. Not to turn on the news, c. To make a healthy lunch at home d. Using the beautiful vegetables from the farmer’s market and e. Pack away bags today! And now I am putting this phone down, hanging up the car key, and digging into the next nook and cranny!
    Thank you for the reset!

    • Good for you, Jan! May that gift you gave yourself of an extra 15 minutes be just the beginning of a remarkable week for you. xo

  4. Holy Kazoli! I can’t even begin to contemplate getting up at that hour, it sorta sounds like torture to me. I am trying valiantly to reset here, so I’m working to get to bed before 1am! I’ve made it about 50% of the time. I guess the morning lark version of what makes one feel better differs a bit from the night owl version… 🙂
