Chocolate covered strawberries are always fun to make, especially when I want a yummy dessert that’s special but not time consuming.
After dipping fresh, juicy strawberries in rich semisweet chocolate, creamy white chocolate, or pretty pink valentines chocolate, I finish them with a simple drizzle and sweet heart sprinkles.
The combination of fresh fruit and rich chocolate is SO good, and the chocolate dipped strawberries look beautiful on any dessert or brunch table.

I love making these for special occasions like Valentine’s Day, romantic dinners, anniversaries, Mother’s Day, holiday parties, classroom treats, or any time you want a simple dessert that feels special and festive.

Note: This post may contain affiliate links. Read my disclosure and privacy policy.
Fresh strawberries – Choose ripe, unblemished, medium-sized strawberries. If they have stems, they’ll be easier to dip. Gently wash the strawberries and make sure they’re completely dry before dipping.
Semisweet chocolate chips – You can substitute milk or dark chocolate, if you prefer.
White chocolate chips – High quality chips made from real white chocolate will give a smoother, creamier result.
Pink chocolate melting wafers – For the best flavor, look for quality pink melting chocolate discs that are especially made to melt smoothly.
Sprinkles – For Valentine’s Day, look for a heart sprinkles mix. You can use other mixes for different holidays, such as a red and green mix for Christmas strawberries.
Step by Step Instructions
STEP ONE: Cover a baking sheet with a sheet of parchment paper.
STEP TWO: Put the three types of chocolate in three small microwave safe bowls. Melt the chocolate in the microwave, heating each bowl on High for 30 second increments, until fully melted. Stir so the chocolate is smooth.
STEP THREE: Hold each strawberry by the stem and dip in chocolate (6 in the semisweet chocolate, 6 in the white chocolate, and 6 in the pink chocolate). After dipping, arrange on the parchment lined baking sheet.
STEP FOUR: Transfer the leftover chocolate in three small piping bags or snack sized zip top bags. Snip off the corner and drizzle the chocolate across the strawberries, using contrasting colors.

STEP FIVE: Sprinkle the strawberries with decorative candy sprinkles. Refrigerate until the chocolate is fully set, about an hour.

Arrange the chocolate-dipped strawberries on a serving platter, and enjoy!

How to Store Leftovers
These strawberries are best eaten the day you make them. After the initial one hour chill to set the chocolate, you can keep them at room temperature for the day.
If you need to store them, place the pan in the fridge until the chocolate is hard. Then arrange them in a single layer in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
