  1. I live in the little mountain town of Maleny on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland where strawberry farms flourish and you can even pick your own. Punnets sell at three for five dollars near the end of the season so, you’ve guessed it, I freeze them!

    At present most of eastern Oz is experiencing extremely high temperatures so cool drinks are favoured over food. Here’s mine.

    Strawberry Smoothie Recipe:
    Ingredients: 1 Frozen Block Strawberries, 1 Cup Milk (light, soy or almond), 1/2 cup Eliza’s Greek Yoghurt
    Method: Whizz in blender.

    Works well with frozen mango too.

  2. Congratulations on getting your book published! My favorite berry is the strawberry – but only the ones from farmers markets near where they are actually picked. The ones I buy in the local supermarket that have been shipped to Colorado from California before their peak ripeness are so disappointing. If I can’t have a fresh ripe strawberry, I’ll take a raspberry, with cream on top. Yum.

  3. Raspberries! I have fond memories of picking raspberries o not my parents farm when I was growing up. My parents would pay us to pick berries, but I never could make much money because it was one berry in the bucket 3 in my mouth.

    THE cookbook looks beautiful by the way!

  4. I love all berries, but my favorite has to be the strawberry. I love going to our local pick-your-own strawberry patch and using them in all kinds of recipes — homemade strawberry preserves are my 17-year old daughter’s favorite. She won’t eat any strawberry preserves except the ones I make! I would love to have your book for new ways to use strawberries and others!

  5. Not everyone knows this, but Michigan blueberries are the best!! End of July and through August, nearly every weekend you can find me at Spicer’s Orchard with a bucket tied around my waist, picking the biggest, juiciest berries around. My favorite berries are the ones I eat on the way home!

  6. Strawberries are my absolute favourite, however from our yard we loved collection blackberries from the wild patch and will definitely miss it now that we have moved.

  7. How can you chose just one berry? they all contribute to some of the best dishes I have ever tasted. I do however buy raspberries buy the ton because I snack on them all berry season.

  8. Blueberries–probably as much for the fond memories of picking them with grandma in Ely, Minnesota as for the taste. We worked hard to fill our buckets because she made them into delicious pies and blueberry pancakes with warm blueberry topping.

  9. Blackberries…such fond childhood memories of picking wild blackberries with Grandpa on the ranch then having Grandma’s blackberry cobbler for dinner that night. My mouth is watering at the thought!

    Which is my favorite to bake a nice pie?
    Boysen, and Elder, and Cran pass the test
    But I think that rasp is THE “berry” best.
