I made my own hummus and salsa for a party I attended. Both were a big hit. Better yet, all the tomatoes and onions for the salsa were unwanted sub toppings from my son’s school. They don’t haveva cafeteria so once a month a few of us parents do a sub lunch for them. The toppings come sealed in little plastic bags. Most of the kids don’t eat the tomato or onion so I take them home so they don’t go to waste. I make salsa or spaghetti sauce with them.
